"My daughter was in addict since she was 13 years old. After discovering her Heroin addiction when she was 15 I changed my life around to help her. After 2 Rehabs my daughter stayed clean for 1½ years, but she was not happy and often very bored. There was something missing in her life. She relapsed and went to 2 different rehabs in a (period) of two years. It was as if her life ran out and after really trying everything in my power I had to let her go. She could not come to my house and ask for money. She was on her own. The nightmares of not knowing where she was, what she was doing or if she still was alive was almost unbearable. But I could not have her around me or her little brother either.

One day she phoned me and told me about Narconon and that she met someone who wanted to bring her to Johannesburg. 'Just to look', she said, 'I don’t want to commit to stay there.'

I saw her once before her departure and she looked so terrible sick and without any sign of life in her eyes. When she decided to stay up for the program I just felt resentment because I thought that this is just another rehab and another couple of thousands to spend. I had no hope.

But then speaking to her once a week made it clear that she was in the best hands. One day she said, 'Mom, the difference between Narconon and other rehabs is that we never speak about drugs. So we don’t hang on to the past.' After I visited her for a weekend 2 months into the program I couldn’t believe the change she had made. So open and positive! The Detox program helped her to regain a beautiful skin and a vitality I haven't seen in her for years. Last week I phoned her and she said, 'Mom, the book is closed. Now I know for 100% I will not go back to that road.'

At the moment I am visiting her here at Narconon and doing two courses myself. The work is very good to understand and makes a lot of sense. I’m learning how to be come a good person in society. I see my daughter as a fully responsible person - a person I can be proud of. Thank you Narconon!"
