“Never in the 22 years since have I feltthe slightest desire to go back to drugs.”
![]() Fermin with his family Champion Car RacerI was a professional race car driver, winner of four national championships. For seven years, I would stop using drugs for a few days prior to each race and would start up again after the race. When I was 31 and at the summit of my career, I started using heroin. I soon found I could not control my usage and had to give up racing. I gradually spent all the money I had earned--even selling my solid silver cups and trophies! My parents allowed me to live in their house for over four years while I tried to kick my addiction. Finally, my father took me to a psychiatrist to see if there was some kind of a solution. He told us that I would be addicted for the rest of my life. Then an old druggie friend called and told me that she was totally cured and could help me. I didn’t believe her, but she persisted until I finally agreed to go to the center--Narconon Mediterraneo. Completely Rehabilitated
